  • Pre-qualification letters

    I have recently noticed that with more and more short-sale and bank owned properties that a pre-qualification letter from your lender is required in order to submit an offer. Is it ordinary practice for lenders other than conventional to supply pre-qual letters to potential borrowers?

    Since you're looking at pre-foreclosures that don't need repairs, you may want to think about tying them up on contract and flipping them for a quick fee. If the mortgage balance is high they may be candidates for a short sale where you negotiate with the lender to discount the mortgage. Depending on the spread between the pre-foreclosure price ...
